Queensland Law Society has welcomed three appointments to the Magistrates Court following the announcement from Queensland Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman.
Legal Aid barrister Megan Power, who was called to the Bar in March 2002, will sit as a magistrate in Innisfail for two years, while Fisher Dore Principal Shane Elliott, a QLS Accredited Specialist in criminal law, will sit in Brisbane before going to Charleville for two years.
Former Corrs Chambers Westgarth Partner and now barrister Stephanie Gallagher, who has been in practice since 1990, will commence her role at the Brisbane Magistrates Court and will also assume the position of Brisbane Coroner from next month.
The magistrates will take office from 2 August.
